Late 19th century Italian standing olive wood plaque caved in relief with an image of 15th century Poet Torquato Tasso(1544-1595).

The reverse shows the carved signature of the artist - Arturo Guidi(1844-1911). “Arturo Guidi Fece(made) Scuola D’Arte Sorrento 1896 ”. Professor at the Institute of Art in Sorrento, Italy, Guidi was head of the ornamental wood carving department.
