Diamond Heart Pendant
Early 19th century Flemish heart or “Vlaams Hart” pendant. This silver heart-shaped pendant has a central rosecut diamond symbolic of the heart of Mary, surrounded by a wreath of irregular diamonds called senailles, often numbered to represent the rosary. The heart is crowned by a “love trophy” containing the torch and quiver of Eros/Cupid, a bow representing St. Andrew’s cross and laurel as a triumph of love. The necklace by de Vera contains antique cut steel and diamond beads finished in a gold clasp.
